Hanging out with my uncle, brothers, and other family is pretty cool. I've been without real friends for almost a year now though. I miss you guys so much. You just can't replace friends, not that I tried to or would want to. I can't wait to move back home to Washington. The plan is January.
Nothing to do tonight... I have a big box of books that will keep me company. Player Piano was my latest read. Vonnegut is so funny, even if he isn't trying to be. Vonnegut's writing is the epitome of social satire. I love it. I've never read books from an author that can create characters that seem so real, and other characters that purposely seem so fake. Dr. Proteus' wife in the book is supposed to be the stereotypical "corporate wife" and Dr. Proteus himself is a character that couldn't be put in a category. It's a really interesting way to write a book, it helps important characters and implications stand out.
I have a few books here that caught my eye for the next read. I might go with "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep". It's the idea that Blade Runner was modeled after, though the story and characters are different. I guess they just took the idea of the futuristic society's relationship with machines for Blade Runner.
Maybe I should read Hyperion.... I picked it up from the book store a few weeks ago because Eric Engelhard told me it's one of his favorite books. Eric has awesome taste in literature. Every book he has suggested to me has been gold. I haven't gotten around to reading it yet though. My literature teacher assigns a novel every couple weeks. It makes it tough to finish my pleasure reads with all the writing that goes along with the assigned reading.
Tomorrow Is the Vikings @ Packers game. I'm so excited. My uncle and I are going about 3 hours early to get our tailgate on. The atmosphere at Lambeau Field during a rivalry game is hard to explain. There's something amazing about bringing an entire state together for anything, even if it is just a dumb game. I can only imagine what it's going to be like tomorrow, with the return of Brett Favre. It's going to be so much fun, I can't wait. I'll take some pictures for you guys.
Seems like it was only yesterday that we drafted A-Rod...

i don't know why people talk shit about bremerton/silverdale.
anybody who says "there's nothing to do here" is a loser and an idiot.
shit isn't just going to come find you, you have to find things to do.

then you're hanging out with the wrong people.
i live in WISCONSIN
this place is gay (because of the weather and farms) but i'm making the best of it
i've met great people and go to sweet parties.
and you know what? i'm coming back to b town because there are people there that i love and things i like to do there.
if you're bored in bremerton you will be bored anywhere.
any place can be great and any place can suck. it's all what you make of it. |
